I took a break from AOT when I was waiting for the final season to air so it's been a long time. I always liked Reiner and was kinda sad that he ended up being a villain because I was sure he would be killed off. Then I heard that he is Hajime Isayama's favorite AOT character, aside from Jean. Oh boy, I had no idea how epic he'd be at the end. And in the end, Annie, Reiner, and Pieck get a second chance at normal lives once the Titan powers are gone. And the scene where Connie asks Reiner if this is what it felt like to betray them and also the scene where Jean forgives Reiner are some of the most powerful scenes in my opinion. In those moments I realized "whoa, everything that's happened built up to these meaningful conversations." Absolutely incredible. And the thing is, even though Reiner betrayed them, they still have that bond from the time they were in the Scouts together. In the end, they all fight to achieve the same goal. It was so epic to see them working together. Never thought I'd see it happen, but I did.

Personally, I rooted for both characters and wanted them to end out alright as people and maybe even as a couple. I didn't really have much of a thing AT ALL against Nick until the infidelity reveal. Amy's planning certainly got very chaotic with letting some guards down as Nancy. But I mean you really just have two deeply troubled people trying to be happy like... you know how people are meant to be? I feel as if I'm seeing the dark side of the moon with this but going over Gone Girl discourse so far has largely brought me to disgust and coldness; shit feels really empty.

What always makes me chose magnis over charles is that in the fight with Sebastian charles tells magneto that for all his talk of ruling the world it is the world that ruls him, but its not the world magnis can control the world it is humans that (lets be honest) are far weaker than him. But what males me side between the lesser of two evils is that charles is an altruist he is naive and untouched with the true state and affairs of humans while magneto is in my opinion a utalitarian he doesn't care about the decorative approach but only that it warrants favourable results. Charles tried to kill him by shutting him down mentally he would've killed him if cyclops didn't step in then he probed into his mind and changed his memories charles said he was just a boy when it happened and couldn't even remember tgeir faces which is untrue we say that his parents death scared him deeply he remembered it all, charles said that killing is detestable yet was ready to kill his own kind yet refused to get rid of those people that will ultimately in every timeline be the climax for all that befalls mutant kind. Magnis is a necessary evil.

the "magneto is right" crowd often fail to see that magneto has never been up for coexistence at heart, he never believed it possible because he sees mutantkind and humankind as two sides who will forever struggle for control (hence why his only two options are an ethnostate or straight up human genocide, coexistence was never an option for him), it doesn't matter if humanity stopped harrassing mutants anymore. He is a mutant supremacist, he believes the place of mutants is above humans, and humans belong at the heels of mutants. He is not a revolutionary fighting for equal rights through any means necessary, he is an holocaust survivor that became mutant Hitler who would happily slaughter human children if it proved useful to him. A tragic character.

My respect for Storm who was once a foe to Magneto to : Saving him from the mutant nullifier, To being a super team on Arakko and her electricity keeping him alive with his fight with Uranos, To showing Xavier his place when he tried to access her memories of Magento after his death, To bringing him back from the dead. Storm never compromises, if Magento won her heart, yet them being not that good friends, I'd place him as a greater friend to Magento than Charles ever was! These two are actually examples of how even us humans can evolve from our pasts.

What needs to be understood about Tomie is that what drives the men to insanity is not her “power” it’s her curse. She can’t choose not to do it, it just happens. She uses it to her advantage but she can’t actually stop it from happening, and she can’t stop herself from ending up chopped into bits. She will return of course, as that is also her curse. Tomie is the physical incarnation of the cycle of violence. She is a victim but she is also a perpetrator, and she cannot prevent the violence from happening. It’s an important distinction because it is an effect that follows her, but it’s not her fault. It’s a commentary on how these things are societal more than individual.
